Productivity at work

An astonishing study on productivity shows a tremendous improvement potential within the organizations.

In a more and more globalized world, productivity is become a key instrument in the development of the organizations. If properly structured, it allows them to manage the internal layers that strengthen their position in their market with a clear financial impact.

In 2013, between April and July, Mathieu Pleyers, in his quality of visiting Professor at ULB and Professor François Pichault (HEC-ULg) have conducted an amazing research on the efficiency of the organizations as perceived by their members. The three regions in Belgium (Brussels, Flanders and Wallonia) have been scrutinized with an interesting benchmark with Germany, considered as the European economical reference. Positions of managers and non-managers have also been compared in order to identify the differences.

The research covers four different domains: the company, the work, the people which whom interviewees are working and themselves. It also identifies to extraordinary improvement potentials if clear initiatives are undertaken and implemented. In that context, the research leads to 10 clear conclusions and 10 recommendations to all people in charge of leading organizations.
